1911 Government / Commander grips, Myrtle Wood
1911 Government / Commander grips, Myrtle Wood
These grips are made from Myrtle wood, the same as I used for Roy Huntington’s 1917 Colt New Service. This wood only grow in the Pacific Northwest of the US and this piece has a striking golden / olive tone as well as looking almost like Rams horn. These will give a very unique look to your sidearm and may get you some questions about what they are made from. They are up to whatever task you have from a Barbeque, serious carry work to the range or hunting in the mountains with a little bit of style. As with everything I make these are handmade start to finish. These will fit any Colt / clone 1911 Full Size or Commander frame.
These are grips for a Star Firestar M45 .45 caliber pistol. They are made of Black Walnut and are hand made from start to finish. They have a satin finish. I have made them with slightly generous tolerances to try and make sure that they will fit your pistol as Spanish pistols are famous for ever so small differences in things like screw hole locations, magazine release size etc. They have been tested on my personal Firestar for function with the magazine in place. They are not shaped the same as stock grips, I have made them to better fill your hand and make it easier to hit the magazine release.

Paldao is a hardwood that comes from Southeast Asia and has a nice luster.
Clean Black Walnut grips with more grain than the original issue grips would have had but still seriously non pretentious. These grips were hand cut from stock, drilled, shaped sanded and finished by hand. There is 5 coats of finish on these grips, each one inspected for the correct look and feel. They are all test fit against and actual Colt 1917 military frame. These are not made to exactly duplicate the original grips as I do not think they were the best feeling so I have made minor changes in order to enhance the ergonomics.
